Baby Houses

13 weeks along . . . 27 more to go! She's showing! It's not much right now, but she's on her way to officially having a "girth" (as Matt likes to call it). She's also just wrapping up the first tri-mester and is excited that the nausea is finally starting to go away. It wasn't that bad, but she's glad she doesn't have to deal with it much longer. The baby continues to grow in his little house. He went from a fig to a lime and today is supposed to be the size of a medium-sized shrimp! Mommy and baby are doing great so far. Darcie goes in for her next check up next week and we should be able to find out the gender of the baby by the end of February!

Our other baby, Cinco (now almost 4 months old), just got a new house as well! Matt spent the better part of New Year's day and the weekend after building the mother of all doghouses. It's a fully insulated doghouse and weighs over 200lbs. Let's just say he got carried away. Nevertheless, Cinco likes his new house and has a warm and comfy place to stay when his parents forsake him and leave him outside all day long! The doghouse design is from http://www.doghouseplans.com/.

Matt is anxiously awaiting his trip to Israel in early February and, hopefully, will post updates of the trip on this site while he is there.

Hope all of you are well!

Fruit Salad

It has now changed from a kumquat to a fig, so I think we will start building a fruit salad with all of the baby comparisons.  We were finally able to tell most people out here in person, so we ventured into posting on facebook, etc. in case there were people who hadn't heard yet.  Maybe soon we'll take a "belly pic", which won't show a whole lot of much since a fig is quite small, but it will be fun for comparison later on.  We're really excited - it becomes quite consuming when you are expecting a baby... you can't get it out of your mind!  And time flies so quickly, I can't believe we only have 6-7 months to prepare now.  Wow.

More to come...

The Little Kumquat

That's right, Darcie is pregnant! Can you believe that we're going to be parents? That's weird. :)This will be a blog for you guys to keep up with our new, little kumquat (that's the size that the baby is at 10 weeks).

In case we haven't told you or you don't already know, Darcie is due on Aug 2nd. As I'm telling people, if the baby is late and we happen to get a 08.08.08 baby, we'll be headed straight for Vegas, so just meet us there instead. :)

Mommy and baby are looking good and are healthy. Mommy Darcie is a little nauseous from time to time, but for the most part hasn't had the morning sickness too bad. She is definitely sleepy though - and she has no problem taking care of that side effect!

And, yes, many of you have also heard that we just recently acquired a puppy as well. The story goes that I was planning on getting Darcie a puppy for our 5th anniversary (cause anything that's warm & fuzzy is an automatic good gift for her - and she loves dogs). Well, the Tuesday before I go to pick up the puppy, she tells me that she's pregnant. Let's just say that threw me for a little curve. But, after almost thinking that we couldn't handle both, we decided to keep our new German Long haired Pointer and we've named him "Cinco." He is just now 3 months old and we're enjoying the training process with him (we have puppy kindergarten in the back yard every night).

Love to you all!
